Surface preparation
built around the job.
OXIDE is a mobile abrasive blasting and surface preparation service for property, vehicles, machinery, marine work and industrial projects across Southern England and South Wales. The focus is simple: understand the surface, remove what should not be there, and leave it properly prepared for what comes next.
Preparation before promises.
Abrasive blasting is not one setting, one abrasive or one answer for every surface. Substrate strength, coating type, corrosion, access, containment and the finish required afterwards all matter.
OXIDE is structured around assessing those variables first. The objective is not simply to make something look clean; it is to prepare the surface appropriately for inspection, restoration, repair or a new coating system while avoiding unnecessary damage.
Where a project is suitable, the preparation process comes to the workpiece. That can make far more sense for fixed masonry, chassis, trailers, plant, boats and larger components than moving the job to a workshop.
See the job
Photos, dimensions, location and the material to be removed establish the starting point.
Assess the surface
Substrate, coating, corrosion, access and surrounding property influence the method.
Prepare correctly
The process is matched to the workpiece and the result required rather than using unnecessary aggression.
Ready for next stage
The prepared surface can move on to inspection, repair, restoration or coating as agreed.
A specialist service without the theatre.
The brand is industrial, but the working principles are practical: assess properly, explain the limitations and concentrate on the quality of the prepared surface.
Surface first
We start with the material beneath the coating. Masonry, timber, steel and delicate panels do not all tolerate the same treatment.
Controlled removal
The aim is enough energy to remove contamination or coating effectively without treating maximum aggression as a virtue.
Take it to the job
Mobile preparation is particularly useful where the workpiece is fixed, awkward, heavy or simply uneconomical to transport.
Think one stage ahead
Preparation should make sense for what follows: inspection, repair, restoration, primer, coating or another finishing process.
From one component to serious commercial work.
OXIDE is designed to assess work across several sectors rather than locking the business into one narrow type of blasting.
A practical safety foundation.
Current HSQE awareness training covers hazards and planning issues commonly encountered around surface-preparation work.
Asbestos Awareness
Awareness-level training intended to help recognise asbestos-related risk and situations where specialist controls are required.
COSHH Awareness
Understanding hazardous substances, exposure routes and the importance of suitable controls.
Silica Dust Awareness
Awareness of respirable crystalline silica and dust-generating activities.
Risk Assessment
Awareness of identifying hazards, considering risk and selecting proportionate controls.
Working at Height
Awareness of planning and controlling work where falls are a foreseeable risk.
Confined Space Awareness
Awareness of confined-space hazards and when specialist procedures and competence are necessary.
These are awareness courses and do not replace specialist licences, task-specific competence, site-specific RAMS or specialist contractors where those are required.
One process family. Very different workpieces.
Each service page explains the practical considerations for that type of work and the information that helps with an initial assessment.
